This kit does not require any fuel tank modifications for installation.

The Pureflow AirDog II-5G 100 GPH A7SPBC259 lift pump fuel system, or Fuel Preporator, is a top upgrade for your 2001-2010 6.6L Duramax. The fuel system on the LB7 LLY LBZ and LMM Duramax is the heart of the vehicle’s performance and reliability. This low pressure (preset at 8-10 psi) Duramax fuel pump mounts to the inner frame rail using the supplied sandwich plate mounting system. This makes it almost hidden, and keeps it out of the way of rocks and debris.  The pressure side of the 5G fuel pump connects to the injection pump feed line on the frame.  The suction/fuel supply sides connect directly to the factory quick disconnect fittings and the air/vapor return is sent back to the tank through a filler neck tee making the install very straight forward. Due to the fact the LB7/LLY/LBZ/LMM Duramax does not have a factory lift pump, these trucks usually see the most benefit from an AirDog lift pump fuel system. (see How It Works).

The II-5G fuel pump features a fully adjustable (7-55psi) integrated diaphragm pressure regulator. This regulator offers more consistent fuel pressure and allows for higher flow rates at pressure.  It can also be boost compensated to battle any pressure drops under open throttle (boost compensation kits sold seperately). The AirDog 2 5G also includes an updated 12 gauge wiring harness with Metri-Pack 280 connectors, which allows for higher current flow without creating excessive heat.

The AirDog 2 5G 100GPH Duramax lift pump will solve the infamous P0087 & P1093 low fuel rail pressure codes by supplying your CP3 injection pump with fuel, rather than your injection pump doing most of the work pulling the fuel up from the tank. This positive supply of purified fuel being fed to your CP3 will also add performance, throttle response, and longevity to your vehicle. Due to extra stress on your fuel system from either high mileage and/or additional performance modifications, like a tuner or larger injectors, your injection pump can become weak over time. This may result in a drop of performance, reliability, and fuel economy. The supplied water separator (WS100) and fuel filter (FF100-2), that mount to the pump, filter your fuel down to a 2 micron rating which surpasses the stock fuel filters filtration capability. (see Duramax Fuel Pressure Is Low – Now What?)

The AirDog II 5G A7SPBC259 100GPH Duramax fuel pump is recommended for trucks that have a stock to a mildly upgraded fuel system (meaning mild or stock injectors, injection pump, and tuning). Backed by a lifetime warranty.
